So it’s a lazy Sunday afternoon here, the sun is high and so is the temp. While I sip my sparkling water to cool off a bit, I thought I’d take a few minutes to write a post about how I’ve been doing with my fitness goals I started at the first of the year. I wrote a bit about it in this post: here. That was roughly 6 months ago, so it’s check in time! I’m still it. Slow and steady wins the race, right? Not that I’m wanting to win any races–nope nope.
I’m still making health and fitness a priority. It takes work, doesn’t it? It takes determination, and it takes goal making. I’m really, so very glad I did make it a priority in my life. When I look back, I didn’t make health and fitness a priority at all. I didn’t eat too crazy mind you, but I ate what I wanted to pretty much. I had absolutely no fitness plan or regimen at all, and I was fine with it. So when my hubby asked for a gym membership for Christmas, something in me said, “I want one, too.” I still don’t know those words that come from. And here we are today.
Considering my fitness background ( or lack of) I must say I am proud of myself for hauling it to the gym 4-5 days a week. If I don’t go to the gym, I do a Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD at home. Lately I’ve added 2.5 mile walks in the neighborhood to my regimen. It breaks it all up a bit. I’m proud to write that I’ve lost 17 pounds so far. I’m no where near where I want to be, but it’s coming off slowly.
Here are my new running shoes. My feet shrunk (what?) so I needed to get a new pair.
I still use the My Fitness Pal App on my phone. Everyday. I go over my calorie intake some days, but most days I do just fine. Now that I know what to eat and what not to. And still not drinking Diet Coke. Well, I’ve had 4-5 this year I suppose. I don’t crave it anymore…I now prefer either San Pellagrino or La Croix Peach Pear Sparking Water. Yumm!
My hubby uses the Runtastic App and told me about it. I now use it too, when I walk in the neighborhood. It has a GPS and it tracks your speed, distance and the # of calories burned. Nice! I didn’t upgrade to the Pro version, I just use the free one.
When the weather warmed up, I went shorts shopping. I chickened out on getting these, but maybe soon. I am happy to say I’ve gone down 2 pant sizes.
Nice tan line, huh?! Lol.
