Holiday Weekend Recap

Well I hope you had a wonderful long holiday weekend. We did! In the past we have spent this weekend with family in OKC, but this year we stayed home. Although we missed my Mom, Step Dad, Sis and her hubby so much. We don’t see them often enough!

Anyhoo, it was so nice to spend time with the 2 college kids in the house. As you can see, Lilly loves our oldest son. They play like this when he is around…too cute, had to share.

Sunday we went downtown whereby I stood in the street, the busy 4 lane Farnam street I tell you, and snapped some shots of our 3! The cars didn’t mind, I didn’t mind. Sometimes ya gotta do what you gotta do to get the shot, right? Here’s the 2 college kids…

We ended up showing the kids my artwork at Hot Shop Art Gallery. That was unplanned, but hubby mentioned it so off we went. I’m so glad we did. They had a nice time and enjoyed so much of the artist’s work there. I snapped a shot of them checking out my wall.

Our youngest has mentioned twice now that he wants to go back down there. He can this weekend for The Open House!

I’ve been making some last minute stuffs for the show. Hubby and I went and added new pieces to the wall, too. He is always a good helper. I’m getting so excited for the artsy weekend!

Holiday Kick Off

Hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend and had a very Happy Thanksgiving! We are! It’s been a great long weekend so far, with our kiddos home to share it with! They sleep in late, so I paint in the mornings…getting ready for the Winter Open House next weekend you know.

Hey, I have a special to share! Everything in my Etsy shop is 20% off this through the 26th! I sent out a deal for this thru my newsletter, but forgot to write about it here. Duh. My mind is on the pumpkin pie lately.

Anyway, now is a great time to get 20% off some of my e-workshops, some original art pieces or prints. Just enter TWENTYOFF at check out!

Thanks for supporting me and every artist this holiday season!

I am so grateful for that!!

Gallery Additions

Over the weekend I gathered this collection of my paintings and took them to Hot Shops. As expected, the light was perfect.

I’ve got more to add soon, so I didn’t pay that much attention to their placement, but the gallery was needing me to get thing started. So I ventured downtown and got things done.:)

So looking forward to the Winter Open House, December 1 and 2! My pieces will be there through the end of the year, but the big open house is when you will find all of the artists there and with their studio doors open. There will be a lot of creative energy and goodness happening those two days.

Admission is free, but they are asking for non-perishable food items for our local food bank, which counts on the generosity of everyone this time of year.

Here are a couple of canvases in the works right now, bad lighting and all…

So, it’s Thanksgiving week…can you believe it? I can’t wait to have our two college kiddos in the house for a few days. Seriously…can’t wait. There is a lot of baking and prepping to do! Such a wonderful time of the year.

In case I don’t get back over here this week, I want to wish you and your family a very blessed Thanksgiving. A day full of grateful hearts, and a wealth of hugs and smiles to sustain your spirit!

Hot Shops Art Center

Do you like art? Do you plan to support the community this holiday season? Live near Omaha? Then I hope you will make plans to frequent The Winter Open House at Hot Shops Art Center this year. There’s about to be a whole lotta art going on there. Just walking through there fills you with inspiration!

A few weeks ago I wrote about my excursion to Hot Shops here. That was such a good day! Shortly after that I met with the Gallery Curator and am delighted to share that I will be featuring several art pieces on their third floor. It’s a gorgeous space with natural light. I got lucky with the natural light!

Here are a few pieces I’ve just finished…you can find them at Hot Shops soon.

Back to the studio I go. I’ll share more soon!

Edie’s 12 Days of Christmas

Couple of things to share with you today. Firstly, I’m sure you are familiar with the wonderful blog of Edie Wadsworth. Are you?

A sweet friend introduced me to Edie’s blog a year or so ago, and I’ve been a big fan ever since. To fully appreciate her story, you have to read the back story…about how she left her career as a family physician to care for her family. And about facing tragedy in the eye when their house burned to the ground 3 nights before Christmas. She lives true to her blog’s name: Life in Grace. I’ll leave the rest to you to discover. you won’t regret it. Be sure to peruse the pix of her beautiful new home. I drool at every photo!

Anyhoo, Edie is hostessing a 12 Days of Christmas with handmade tutorials…right now. She’s getting folks ready for the holidays!

Today I’ve shared a Sweet Treats Platter with downloadable PDF’s for making your own. I’m also doing a giveaway on Edie’s blog! Check it out HERE.

I also wanted to remind you that today is the last day to enjoy  20% off all of my E-Workshops! Check them out here!
