Amazing Lotion Bars

I want to share one of my favorite recipes with you today! I never use the word "amazing" lightly, so I am not kidding when I say this recipe for lotion bars is amazzzing. It's better than the lotion bars I used to get from Lush. I know I know....I love Lush, but these lotion bars are better than theirs.

If I were the lotion bar score giver, I would give these an "A" and I would give the Lush bars a "C". That's how good it is. Don't worry...I'm fully prepared to share my resources with you so you can make them for yourself! They are easy to make and you will fall in love with them like I did, I just know you will.

The Winter months are always brutal on this fair skinned girl's hands and these lotion bars definitely made these past few months easier on my skin!! I will never stop making them, using them and sharing them.

Ingredients:

 1/4 C.  Raw Shea Butter

1/4 C. White Bees Wax Pellets

3 T.  Coconut Oil (found in the olive oil section at your grocery store)

4-6 Silicone Soap Molds

10-12 drops Christmas Spirit Essential Oil

12-15 drops Orange Essential Oil

Microwave

2 C. Pyrex measuring cup

I'm sure you know I only use therapeutic grade essential oils from Young Living. You can learn about them here.

Also, you can use other essential oil combinations, but the Christmas Spirit and Orange smells so crazy good together. Very citrusy and a little spicy. Everyone I share these lotion bars with falls in love with the scent and benefits of these oils!

How To:

Drop the shea butter, bees wax pellets and coconut oil into a pyrex measuring cup and microwave for 30 second intervals. Stir. Repeat. You will need to do this microwave/stir several times to melt the ingredients. You may even start to think nothing is happening but keep doing it anyway until it's all melted.

Once it's all melted, let it cool for 5 minutes. Then add the drops of essential oils and stir.

Pour into soap molds. Refrigerate for an 30 -45 minutes and remove from molds.

I like to keep my lotion bars in a cute tea cup. On my desk I have one in a mini dish and it's the perfect size.

I got that tea cup at Anthropologie. Super cute, right?

To use the lotion bars, just rub the bar in the palm of your hands a few times and it will start to melt. Put the bar down and rub the melty lotion on your skin. DIVINE.

Give them a try and let me know how much you love this recipe!
