Frankenweenie and Other Fine Things

One of my favorite Artists, Tim Burton, has a new movie out next week: Frankenweenie. I’m looking forward to seeing his creations come to life on the big screen! Gaaaa! If you are a fan, the IMAX theaters are giving this Tim Burton print to movie goers opening night. I don’t know if I ‘m up to going to the midnight release, hmmmmm….but I sure do love this little guy:

I’m also loving the plush Frankenweenie available at the Disney store. The cute here can not be denied.

So, tell me, are you planning on seeing Frankenweenie? Do you have a favorite Tim Burton movie?

Moving on now…wanted to show you a painting I finished this week, called Shine On. It’s 11x14x1 and done on birch, cradle board.

This is a mixed media piece, using oodles of acrylics, watercolor, paper and pencil. These girls have the right attitude. Shine on! You can see more info in the shop: here.

I finished a couple skinny girls this week.

I have started putting together a new EWorkshop! It’s been a while, I know. I devoted most of my Summer to painting. I’ve been craving a new workshop and I am delighted to say it’s all coming together. I will have more details up next week, but I do have a peek to share:

Lastly, I whipped this up and thought it might make you smile. This fine fellow makes me happy in a Frankweenie sort of way…only more colorful. Or is he more Seuss-ish? He is from a painting I sold at the Art Fair.

Have a great weekend!

Seeing your painting titled “Shine On” reminds me of an uplifting song of the same name by blues artist Eric Bibb. Definitely worth a listen if you have the time.
