Run, Forrest, Run

(love that quote from Forrest Gump)

It wouldn’t be Fall here without some cross country meets. As you know, we have sporty kiddos. The weather has been beautiful this month. We’ve had a few set backs so far this season, AJ with his allergy mess of a mess (argh) and Allie rolled her ankle at the start of the season.

She’s been pretty lucky throughout her running career to have had so few injuries. I’m thinking she’s run roughly 5,000 miles over the past 9 years. Probably more? Definitely more in college. So to have only rolled ankles twice and a simple knee fix with custom orthotics…makes her a lucky girl. She has had some talented coaches and trainers for sure. 5,000+ miles and only 3 set backs. Anyhoo…we ventured to her her home meet this weekend. It’s our favorite meet.

The normal red and black uniforms were enhanced with long pick socks and bows in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Love that.

I think she gets mad when I take shots of her after running…she is all red faced and has nats in her wet ponytail. I would get mad, too, but I get all the pix I can get. It’s her senior year…so hard to believe.

Drake came with us, too. The men’s team tried to talk him into running with them, but he wouldn’t do it. Shoot. That’d have been fun to watch. I know he could have stuck with them the couple of miles at least.

Another post race shot. Best frandz….love these girls…

AJ has been running so great, when he is able to run. Allergies are so bad this year. He has had to miss a few meets.

Older brother came to watch him run at this meet, which made. his. day.

So dad and brother follow him all over the field cheering him on. I do too, but I walk so I don’t get as far.:)I thought this was a fun shot of Drake, like a shepard looking for his sheep…errrr…bro.
