Currently on the easel

Well it’s been  a wonky week around here. Started out fabulous, and then sorta tapered off. I didn’t get as much done as I wanted this week, but that’s what tomorrow’s are for, right? Here are some things I’ve been doing. All are still in the works. This cradle board, is done, just need to decide on the 2″ sides…plain or painted?

Here is the sweet spot a/k/a favorite part on this piece:

I always search for a sweet spot in my modern whimsy pieces. Not sure why. So I’ve been making sure I add one to my pieces lately. Love that.

Here is my bit of confusion. My “what the heck am I doing, where on earth is this going, walk away and come back later piece”. It’s getting better. Finally. It’s small, which is another reason why it’s been a challenge.

That piece is better when paired with this companion. I wanted stronger colors and lines. Then I didn’t know what to do with them when I got them. It’s getting better. Finally!

Last thing to share, a fabulous quote that never leaves my mind. It’s probably the quote of the Summer for me. I love it. I pass it on often, and I’m passing it on to you, too! I keeps me going. The quote shapes my moments and my thoughts.  So powerful.

This journal page is a mix of watercolors then Copics, pigment markers and a white pen.

Go write that quote down somewhere awesome (like your art journal) and use it. Remember it.
