Big surprise to share today. I’m so happy to show you and tell you about my new rubber stamp collection, In My Element! If only you knew now long I’ve wished for stamps likes these. I’m so grateful for Stamping Bella for the hand holding and positive “you can do this” spirit. Check them out!

One thing I love is that these are rubber, not acrylic. Acrylic has never really been a friend of mine, sadly. Rubber gives you a much better stamped image. Plus the lines are nice and thick….and will be so much fun to play with. Ahhhh…so looking forward to that! I’ll be sure to show you what I’m doing with them soon.

Until then, I’m busy working and making videos for the new Art Journalista EWorshop starting up soon. Having a creative blast prepping and making up all the pages and prompts!
I’ve gotten a couple emails from folks asking what type of magazine/book to use for this EWorkshop. I’m happy to say that almost any magazine/soft covered book will work for this altered journal. It just depends on what you want. Do you want it to be big? If so, then you will want to pick a magazine/book that’s big. If you want it thick (roomy for lots of pages, then pick a mag/book to alter that has lots of pages.
I’ll be featuring Kinfolk Magazine (Volume 3, 2012) and also an Uppercase Magazine (Vol. 13, 2012). I’ll show both. They are both such beautiful magazines and are so perfect for our journal making. Stampington Magazines will also be beautiful to use in this EWorkshop.
Kinfolk and Uppercase can be purchased online (click their links above) or at Anthropologie. If you have older issues you want to use, they would be perfect.
All of these mags are nice and thick, and have great thick covers. I am deeply in love with the size of these publications, and have been really enjoying working on the larger pages. Lots of room to play!
And, YES you can use any mag/book you like! Pick one you don’t mind not seeing again.
So I hope that answers that question, in case you were wondering!
Art Journalista begins June 18, that’s right around the corner!
Have a super weekend everyone!

Thank you for the info on what kind of magazine to purchase, Teresa. I am definately going to sign up for your Art Journalista eWorkshop, and I already have a nice Stampington magazine to use for class. I’m really looking forward to June 18!
